Beim gestrigen Sommergespräch von Südtirol Heute (ORF) war der sympathische Imam von Brixen, Abdeslam Termassi, zu Gast, der einen wirklich guten Tiroler Dialekt spricht. Seine Gläubigen halten aber anscheinend nicht viel von »unnötiger« Mehrsprachigkeit. Im Interview schilderte Termassi unverblümt, dass unsere neuen MitbürgerInnen — ganz pragmatisch — bereits die Essenz der sprachlichen Situation im Lande erkannt haben:

Wenn ich unterrichte oder predige — Arabisch muss sein. […] In Südtirol verstehen alle Italienisch. Ich habe manchmal auf Deutsch und Italienisch unterrichtet, das hat viel Zeit gekostet und die Leute haben [daraufhin] gesagt: Schau, Imam, bitteschön, mach es nur auf Italienisch, a bissl kurz, und wir verstehen es alle.
